In my last email, I shared my Digital Nomad Getting Started Guide.
I created the guide as part of my mission to help more people escape from the boring “default life plan” and live life on their own terms instead.
There was no guide back when I got started on my journey.
I had to figure it out all by myself.
I spent years stuck in a corporate job — sitting in a cubicle and daydreaming about traveling the world instead.
Back then, I didn’t know anyone else who’d actually done this before. My friends were all busy studying or climbing the corporate ladder.
So I read every book and blog post about long-term travel and becoming a digital nomad that I could get my hands on.
All that reading gave me the information I needed, but I struggled to make a transformation in my life.
Even after I finally quit my corporate job, it took me five more years to build up the courage to take the leap and become a digital nomad.
Finally, on October 15, 2012, I packed my bags and moved out of my house to fulfill my dream of traveling around the world.
It started as a six month trip, but now, nearly 10 years and more than 50 countries later, I’ve never looked back.
Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of helping some of my friends and family members become digital nomads too.
Along the way, I’ve learned so much more about traveling, living as a digital nomad, and how to make a big transformation in life.
All of that experience made me realize something important…
Making a big change in your life is hard.
Making a big change in your life is even harder if you have to do it all by yourself, with no one to guide you.
And making a big change is even harder still if you are trying to change your life in a way that makes you different from the people around you.
Because then you have to overcome inertia, your own internal resistance, plus the force of all of the people asking you “why are you doing _____?” “are you sure this is a good idea?”
So, if you want to make a change in your life, find someone who has done it before to teach you, and a group of peers who can help keep you accountable and motivated.
That’s what I was missing when I started, and why it took me five years to become a digital nomad.
And that’s why I’ve decided to create a cohort-based, live course (taught by me) for people who want to become digital nomads too.
Instead of struggling on your own for five years, you’ll learn everything you need to know in just a few weeks.
The first cohort kicks off in May.
I’ll tell you more about it over the coming weeks, but first, if you think you might be interested, then please click the button below and fill out the two-minute survey.
There’s no commitment required, it’s just a couple of questions.
Your feedback will help me make the course extra awesome, and in return, you’ll get a $100 discount if you decide to enroll later.
Again, there’s no payment or commitment yet! This is just letting me know that you’re interested in the course when the time comes.
That’s all for this week. More soon!
